Abstract

This article is a product of an intention to bring to bear the concept of quality assurance and its practice in Nigeria, mostly in the education industry. The target is to identify missing links believing its efficacy in developing the sector and its seeming observed failure in that direction. A critical analysis of the concept and the background for its emergence will lucidly ex-ray how it is supposed to be practiced for effectiveness. No doubt quality assurance has subsisted for a period in the education industry that is sufficient to create significant impact but the narrative does not appear to convincingly present it as one to be desired or cherished; hence the need to examine the missing links.
